Product description

The NerdOctaxe Hydro is the most powerful miner in our open-source line: eight BM1370 ASICs deliver around 14 TH/s, as much hashrate as you otherwise only get from much larger machines. The highlight is the hydro water cooling: it dissipates the ~220 watts of heat compactly and quietly and keeps the chips cool and stable even in continuous operation. Everything runs on NerdOS, the Nerdaxe branch of the open AxeOS firmware: set pool, frequency and voltage yourself, watch hashrate and temperature live in the web dashboard. You do not need a manufacturer account for any of it.

That makes the NerdOctaxe Hydro for anyone who wants serious hashrate for solo mining at home without the noise and size of classic big miners. In NerdOS you choose: go solo for a whole block, or join a pool for regular payouts. We ship within 24 hours.

Which parts of this miner are open, and under which licence, is listed in our overview of open-source Bitcoin miners.

Frequently asked questions about NerdOctaxe Hydro | 14 TH/s

Why water cooling?
At ~14 TH/s the eight ASICs produce around 220 watts of heat. The hydro block removes it compactly and quietly, keeping the miner cool and stable for 24/7 operation.
Is it good for solo mining?
Yes. With 14 TH/s you get a little over ten times as many attempts per block as with a Bitaxe Gamma 601, in a compact, self-hosted open-source setup. It does not guarantee a hit.
How loud is it?
Thanks to the water cooling it stays comparatively quiet for its performance class, far from the noise of a classic data-center miner.

Why buy from Open Source Miners?

We don't sell anything we don't run ourselves: our own fleet mines around the clock on the exact hardware in this shop.

Open firmware instead of a black box

Bitaxe, Nerdaxe and NerdQaxe are open-source Bitcoin miners: the Bitaxe runs AxeOS, the Nerdaxe family runs NerdOS, a fork of it. Every setting is visible, and clock and voltage are yours to set. Flash firmware updates in minutes with our free web flasher, right in the browser and without extra software.

In stock in the EU, shipped within 24 hours

Every miner marked as available is in stock and ships within 24 hours with tracking, with no customs fees and no import-VAT surprises. Shop availability is always up to date; if something sells out, the restock alert notifies you first.

Support from miners, for miners

We run Bitaxe and NerdQaxe miners around the clock ourselves. Questions about solo mining, pool setup, WiFi or cooling are answered by someone who has the same device on their own desk. In English or German.

Bitcoin only, and you can pay with it

Our miners only compute SHA-256 for Bitcoin. We carry no altcoin miners and make no "cloud mining" promises. Pay by Lightning or on-chain, by card or PayPal, as a guest without an account.
