Why power is THE mining question
Industrial mining lives on electricity for a few cents per kilowatt-hour. A modern industrial ASIC draws over 3,000 watts – at home that would be more than 30 kWh per day, over €300 a month, plus vacuum-cleaner-level noise. That device class was simply never built for living rooms; it belongs where power, cooling and sound are solved industrially. The bonus way: balcony solar plus mini miner
For tinkerers, pairing plug-in solar with a mini miner is perhaps the most elegant move of all. The math is delightfully simple: a Bitaxe Gamma consumes about 150 kWh per year. A common 800-watt balcony solar kit produces 600 to 800 kWh per year in central Europe, depending on orientation.
