Nerdaxe Gaia: the new BM1373 miner with 2.6 TH/s reviewed

The Nerdaxe Gaia is one of the first home miners with the new BM1373 ASIC. What is the Nerdaxe Gaia?

The Gaia is the new generation of the Nerdaxe line: open hardware, open firmware, no manufacturer account. Like its predecessors it runs NerdOS, the Nerdaxe fork of AxeOS. You enter your pool and your own Bitcoin address, set frequency and voltage as you like, and watch hashrate, temperature and shares live on the large 1.9" display and in the web dashboard. When you mine solo, a block reward goes straight to your address without a middleman.

Nerdaxe Gaia vs. Nerdaxe Gamma: what does the BM1373 bring?

The Nerdaxe Gamma with its BM1370 delivers ~1.3 TH/s at ~12 J/TH. The Gaia doubles the hashrate to ~2.6 TH/s and improves efficiency to ~10 J/TH. In practice that means twice the chance of finding a block for only about 10 watts more. The display, NerdOS and the quiet operation stay as you know them from the Nerdaxe line. If you want even more hashrate, the NerdQaxe ++ with four BM1370 chips and ~4.8 TH/s at around 80 watts is the next bigger step.
