Nerdaxe Gaia: the new BM1373 miner with 2.6 TH/s reviewed

By Lukas Henning · 23. July 2026 · 6 min read

The Nerdaxe Gaia is the most exciting newcomer in open-source mining in a long time: as one of the very first home miners it runs the brand-new BM1373 ASIC, delivering around 2.6 TH/s at just ~25 watts – roughly double the hashrate of a classic single-ASIC miner like the Bitaxe Gamma, at better efficiency. You can pre-order the Nerdaxe Gaia from us; shipping starts September 15, 2026, strictly in order of purchase.

What is the Nerdaxe Gaia?

The Gaia is the new generation of the popular Nerdaxe line – open hardware, open firmware, no manufacturer account. Like its predecessors it runs AxeOS: enter your pool and your own Bitcoin address, tune frequency and voltage as you like, and watch hashrate, temperature and shares live – on the large 1.9" display and in the web dashboard. Block rewards go straight to your address, never through a middleman.

Nerdaxe Gaia specs at a glance

  • ASIC: 1× BM1373 (latest generation)
  • Hashrate: ~2.6 TH/s
  • Power draw: ~25 W (~10 J/TH)
  • Display: 1.9" TFT (LILYGO T-Display S3)
  • Firmware: AxeOS (open source), 2.4 GHz WiFi
  • Power supply: 12V DC (included)
  • Price: €199 incl. VAT

Nerdaxe Gaia vs. Nerdaxe Gamma: what does the BM1373 bring?

The Nerdaxe Gamma with its BM1370 delivers ~1.3 TH/s at ~15 J/TH – the Gaia doubles the hashrate to ~2.6 TH/s and improves efficiency to ~10 J/TH. In practice that means double the chance of finding a block for only ~10 watts more. The display, the AxeOS experience and the quiet operation stay exactly as you know them from the Nerdaxe line. If you want even more hashrate, the NerdQaxe ++ (~4.8 TH/s) is the next step up – at more than double the price.

Who is the Gaia for?

For anyone who wants a serious shot at solo mining without noise, high power bills or tinkering: 2.6 TH/s doubles your lottery odds compared to a single Bitaxe, at living-room noise levels. And because everything is open, the device is truly yours – firmware, settings, rewards.
